A work that worms below your skin and burrows.
A desperate longing for light that only drives one deeper into blackness.
The author of this work isn’t content to let you see the depths of a dark soul, like smoke she lets it envelop you until you’re submerged and begging for light. Only then can you truly understand the characters.
Amazing.

I'd be lying if I say this book did not take my breath away. The writing is just elegantly morose and each of the paragraphs are punctuated with a poetic feel. Its beauty is almost dizzying.

This is powerful. Loved it! Your style is so lovely and dark at the same time. My favorite part was of the little minnows. It painted such an eerie vision. Enchanting. Well done!

Oh. My. God. My heart died. And tears in my eyes. This is such a beautifully written short story that I can't fathom how such a story can hit your feels so hard. But this did. This is amazingly haunting and chilling and yet depressing and sad at the same time. I'm in love with everything about it. This is one of the most beautiful stories I've ever read.

A beautifully dark narrative on loneliness, loss and madness, Christine Bottas delves deep into the most pitiful recesses of the human psyche with this haunting gothic tale. With stunning illustration that perfectly paints the story in a shroud of monochrome visuals with flashes of scarlet and blue, the gifted style of prose pulls you into the narrator's crumbling grip on reality.
The Maggies is a truly stunning debut into the world of e-comic, combining perfect graphics and sublime story-telling in a way that will stay with me for a long time to come.
